About this experience
Rich N Pour offers a unique experience within the SUNY system, available exclusively at SUNY Oswego. It provides students the chance to be fully hands-on and learn the ins and outs of running a business. Being part of this incredible opportunity taught me valuable skills, from how to effectively collaborate with others to maintaining an organized and efficient system for managing workers.
My position
As the head of marketing for the café, I was responsible for ensuring all aspects of our marketing efforts ran smoothly. I developed various promotions and worked closely with the sales team to make sure they aligned with our goals and didn't result in any losses. I also maintained consistent communication with the team about new drinks and collaborations, so everyone stayed in the loop and on the same page.
For collaborations, I focused on staying organized to ensure the café presented itself professionally and upheld a positive reputation. This included brainstorming slogans, creating content ideas, and researching what our target audience wanted, while also ensuring the collaboration appealed to the club or organization we were working with.
Social Media Engagement
During my 4 months overseeing social media and promotions at Rich N Pour, I successfully increased our following by 20%, boosted engagement by 5%, and helped our group become the most profitable.
