Oz Dining

About this internship

This internship focused on promoting the Oswego residential dining halls across campus to current and prospective students. We leveraged trending reels to boost engagement and collaborated with various campus organizations to get the word out. We also created informative posts about healthy eating and promoted new menu items.

This experience taught me a lot and pushed me to learn so much in a short amount of time. My boss was incredibly involved and dedicated to our growth, she challenged us to be our best and ensured we left with more knowledge than when we started.

What I learned

I worked alongside another team member to manage the Instagram and Facebook accounts for OZ Dining. We collaborated closely to create engaging content and edited videos together to ensure the social media platforms maintained a consistent brand voice and identity. We also worked on selecting fonts and colors that aligned with the brand’s aesthetic, ensuring a cohesive look across all posts. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork and brand consistency in social media management.

Engagement and Outreach Efforts

My coworker and I attended various events catered by the Oswego Dining team and visited different dining halls to gather photos from students for our Instagram. This experience really pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way, allowing me to interact with students and staff alike.

We also conducted interviews around campus, asking students about their favorite dining hall meals, and I had the opportunity to interview several members of the Oswego Dining team to learn about their experiences and contributions. These interviews helped me develop stronger communication skills and gave me a deeper understanding of the dining team’s impact on campus life.
